Polka Dots and Fishtails

| Dress: mom’s | Sandals: Target |

There is something summery and unique about a tiny fishtail braid among loose waves…

This dress usually isn’t my style, but when I borrowed it from my mom and she insisted that I keep it, I couldn’t turn her down.  These flat sandals let the polka-dot pattern take center stage, but when worn with nude cork wedges and some bright accessories, this dress could be much more than just a preppy staple.

Breezy

It’s always so windy on days I wear dresses… just like it always rains when I wear white.  Such is life, I suppose.

May really flew by, didn’t it?  It’s almost summer.  Here’s to the month that is fading and the month that hasn’t quite begun.

Back to Blogging

| T shirt: Target | Shorts: American Eagle | Belt: Charlotte Russe | Scarf worn as head wrap: gift | Ring: heirloom |

I’m loving above-knuckle rings at the moment…

After an exactly one-month blogging hiatus, I’m back.  I’ve been busy, but that’s the story of my life and should really learn to manage my time better anyway.  I’m excited to be blogging again since I have really missed it.  More soon (promise)!

Everyday Spring

| Sweater: Zara | Tank Top: American Eagle | Jeans: PacSun | Flats: Target | Necklace: Gift from boyfriend |

Now that the weather has settled down into its usual springtime temperatures–no more 80-degree days til April or May–the shorts and tank tops that saw the sunshine for a few sweaty, heavenly days were put away again and the trusty jeans were unfolded.  I know many people love that in-between weather because of the layering, but I’m not a fan.  I hate being cold early in the day and then sweltering in my piles of clothes.  This outfit above is my casual, everyday spring, and with a leather jacket or light peacoat overtop is absolutely perfect for this type of weather.

As for my personal life, I’m back in school and am starting a new quarter.  New classes are always a bit of a jolt for me, since I am definitely a creature of habit!  I know many of you other college students are on semesters, as I will be next year, and only have a few more weeks of school!  So exciting.  I, for one, am ready for summer.

Happy Tuesday!
